I wanted an inexpensive easy to use system. This thing is awesome! I love it and it works just as expected. If you don't want all the bells and flashy stuff...just a basic easy to read color GPS...this is your system. It has a security code to lock out unauthorized users but even if it got stolen, you are only out about $150. The automatic updates are very good. I highly recommend it!!! This is my first car GPS. The tomtom has a bunch of extra features that the magellan just does not have. The system even tells you which side you destination address is ie. The system says "Take the next right and stay on the right lane" which is a big plus if you are on a 3 lane road. I opted to get this system over the Magellan Maestro and I am so glad that I did.
