TomTom One LE Review (Video & Pictures )

The TomTom One LE
You can purchase additional maps on an SD card but unlike the 3rd edition where you would have to remove the US/Canada maps and then upload the additional maps, the TomTom One LE lets you work with the additional maps seamlessly. The LE also has more additional features than the 3rd edition. These features make the LE a slightly better option to get than the standard TomTom One 3rd Edition. Below are some actual pictures and a short video demonstration of some of the features found on the TomTom One LE
.

- Does not display street names of some side street names making it easy to miss a turn sometimes
Bottom Line:The TomTom LE is designed for ease of use (you don’t have to read the manual) and updating maps thorough your computer is very easy. It’s interface is designed well and displays more than enough information. If you are looking for a compact, well designed and affordable GPS system then this system might work for you. It is small enough to fit into a shirt pocket or purse and works very well as a basic gps system.

I just got one of these for christmas and I love the Find Me feature and tomtom home. The only flaw I have found so far is that the system has a hard time locating satellites when it is raining.
I opted to get this system over the Magellan Maestro and I am so glad that I did. The tomtom has a bunch of extra features that the magellan just does not have. The system even tells you which side you destination address is ie. The system says “Take the next right and stay on the right lane” which is a big plus if you are on a 3 lane road.
LE can be hacked to add TTS which makes it much more desirable than 3rd edition. Google can help find files for TTS hack. Very easy to do. Works great.

This is my first car GPS. I wanted an inexpensive easy to use system. This thing is awesome! I love it and it works just as expected. If you don’t want all the bells and flashy stuff…just a basic easy to read color GPS…this is your system. It has a security code to lock out unauthorized users but even if it got stolen, you are only out about $150. The automatic updates are very good. I highly recommend it!!!
